visit to fazenda ouro verde at http://www.dancebatukeira.com/en/index.php
then 10 days athttp://www.kilombotenonde.com/ for the event Permangola brining capoeira angola and permaculture together. training with mestre cobra mansa was at 5am every morning, during the day times i often went on walks lead by Do and his father seu Brasilinho, mestre cobra mansa's neighbours ,on walks in the atlantic rain forest the ways one uses ones body are dictated by the environment, walking there requires sensitivity, vigilence and the use of your whole body. I also learned how he is using permaculture principles on his land with good results, he has thousands of species of fruit and vegetables growing. With Do and his partner Sharon we made a simple map of his land identifying his fruit trees. I made a video interview wit them about how they enjoy themselves and the dangers they deal with on their land. Do said he loves to sit under the cacau trees when he is not working and sharon said she loves to drink coconut water. Do identified a danger as the pesticides and chemical fertilizers his other neighbours use. During the event We also learned by doing the principles and skills of building a house using adobe - basically using mud and wattle. There was a capoeira roda and a lecture most nights in the local village called bon fim so we could meet and share with local people. One local history group came to the farm to give a lecture about the locality. The people at the event were from all over the world we lived in tents washed and swam in the river and continually and spontaneously made music at every opportunity. We were looked after by mestre cobra mansa's family paulinho and eliane his brother and sister in law, nice his neighbour, erasmus his neighbour, pica pau his adopted son.We ate, trained and lived together i had a good feeling of unity and friendship and it was an incredibly happy time. The sensitivities and ways of relating to nature that were reinvigorated while i was there were developed further during my Visit to Pura Vida http://puravidaonline.wordpress.com∞; here I continued living close to nature with no running water or electricity i became synchronised with the rhythms of the sun cycles.
