I will demonstrate urban climbing techniques, initially focusing on traversing, on facades, railings and street furniture. We will then proceed on a circuit which includes, the raised walkway above Bishopsgate, trellis work near the foot of the NatWest tower, the facade of 99 Bishopsgate and the churchyard of St Botolph's as I demonstrate further skills. You will have the opportunity to experiment throughout the session.

Is it dangerous?
It depends on your risk appetite. You will quickly develop skills in assessing the risk of every manoeuvre . You will make judgements based on your knowledge of your own physical abilities and direct knowledge of the structure you are interacting with. You will become adept at assessing the physical consequences of the risks you take and develop skill in recognizing both the potential value of opportunities and the potential impact of their adverse effects.
RISK, urban climbing is not scaling facades, equipment is not used, you will find creative ways to challenge yourself, never going far above street level.

Will we be using equipment?

No, your own ability to assess the risk you are willing to expose your self to is your guide. Most RISK urban climbing takes place only a few meters above the pavement.

is it legal?
Yes, Urban climbing means using buildings, railings and benches in new and inventive ways.

Who should attend?
This workshop will benefit risk management professionals and those who work in the City, who are seeking new skills to evaluate proposals that extend beyond traditional risk management.

Interactive exercises are given throughout the workshop.

INSTRUCTOR
Lottie Child is a researcher, artist, lecturer and experienced urban climber with an interest in Risk Management Practice and business transformation. Her objectives are to provide risk management transformation consulting in order to expand possibilities for wider understanding of both the fields of art and finance through facilitating professionals in their direct personal understanding of Risk Management.
